The central MNRE subsidy is based on your system size in kW, following the official slab rates. If your state offers an additional rebate, that is added on top of the central subsidy to arrive at the total estimated amount.

Do all states offer an extra rebate on top of the central subsidy?

No. Currently only a few states, such as Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Delhi, have a configured additional state-level rebate in our system. All other states still receive the central MNRE subsidy, but no extra state rebate is added yet.

No. The figures shown are indicative estimates for planning purposes only. The actual subsidy is subject to MNRE guidelines, DISCOM approval, your eligibility, and prevailing government rates at the time of application, which may change.

Approval timelines vary by DISCOM and state. Where we have specific data, we show it above (for example, DISCOMs in Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Delhi). For other states, approval typically takes around 15-25 days, subject to local processing times.

What documents does my DISCOM need for approval?

Typically your DISCOM will need proof of ownership, a copy of your electricity bill, an installation agreement with your vendor, and a technical feasibility check before net-metering approval is granted.

What is net metering and why does it matter?

Accepted Answer

Net metering lets you export excess solar power back to the grid and receive credit for it, reducing your electricity bill. Your local DISCOM must approve and install a net meter before your system is fully operational.
